Picked up the Exocet with a flatbed tonight. The towtruck driver had never seen anything like it. Before he was even out of the truck, he was asking “what the hell is it?! It looks awesome.” I asked if it made his list of strangest things ever towed, to which he said “it’s number 1".

Too cool. Gotta change that screen name now. Looking forward to hearing more about this. What’s a 3/4 finished exocet go for? Looks like the hard stuff is done.
Sweet!

Yes, need the money info! The Exocet office are something like a 10 minute drive from where I work. I need to get over there.

$12.5k - which is a great deal, IMO. It’s basically the cost of the kit + the car (maybe less even) without taking into account all the good work that’s been done so far.
Unfortunately, Kinja is borked and won’t let me change my name!

Is that frozen lake autocross? That might be the craziest thing I’ve ever seen an Exocet do. lol

That’s a good deal. For the race kit you are pretty close to that already. We expect hooning videos soon. How did you find it was for sale? Exomotive’s forums?
I checked and my office is 15 min from Exomotive’s office. If you ever need something from them I would be happy to help.

Yup. Ice Time Trial. Courses are similar to autocross but more open, faster, and fewer cones. Scoring is an average of all your runs after dropping the slowest. Due to the fact you can’t easily run for cones on the ice there are fewer cones on the course and a hit is worth 10s instead of 2s.
This was a bit of fun some members of my club did at a member’s lake house on Saturday. Since we were doing it for fun with about 6 cars on Saturday we set up a circuit and ran it like a track day. Normally cars at the ITTs have to be registered, inspected, and insured to get through tech (frozen lakes are considered public highways in VT) but since this was a bit of fun and not anything official we decided to ignore that and bring the unregistered Exocet out on the ice. He normally runs a 1998 Corolla on the ice (the “Corolla Borealis” as we call it is a total beater, stick shift, 200k miles, and it has a passenger foot brake and other equipment because Paul is a registered drivers ed instructor and uses it to teach students to drive stick). A Miata has the same bolt pattern as a Corolla so he took the bolt tires from the Corolla and slapped them on the Exocet. It was properly crazy and some of the most fun I have had in the passenger seat of a car, and I’ve ridden along in all kinds of cars.

Yeah, I’m pretty happy about it. Can’t do any better than that. Found it through the Exocet Owners Group on Facebook.
Thanks - that’s good to know!

Haha, I love “Corolla Borealis”.
That sounds like it was a blast.

It was great fun and a good way to finish off our Ice Racing season. I’m going to stick the summers back on this weekend and get ready for Autocross in 3 weeks.

Awesome! Looking forward to more updates. I’d be skeptical of what essentially a kit car someone else put together, but shouldn’t be too hard to go over to spot any issues.
